Julie Land is an artist focusing on animation, video and installation art living in Krakow, Poland. She has an MFA in Intermedia from the Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow and an MA in European Culture from Jagiellonian University. Much of her work, both as an artist and academic focuses on sexuality, religion and conflict. She teaches courses on gender and social movements at the Jagiellonian University and is also involved in organizing Krakow’s Queerowy Maj/Queer May festival. As part of her work as an artist she often travels to East Jerusalem, where she conducts film and video workshops with Palestinian youth. She is currently completing her PhD in sociology from the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw.
